Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date, or directly outdoors once the soil has warmed. Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep in well-draining, fertile soil. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer or compost to encourage strong growth. Harvest when the bulbs are mature, typically 100-120 days after sowing, when the tops start to yellow and fall over.
