How to grow Passionfruit from seeds:
1. Preparation: Remove the seeds from a ripe passionfruit and rinse them in water to remove the pulp.
2. Soaking: Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours to help soften the seed coat and promote germination.
3. Planting: Plant the seeds in a seed tray or small pots filled with well-draining potting soil. Press the seeds lightly into the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil.
4. Temperature: Keep the seeds in a warm location (around 70-85°F or 21-29°C) as they require warmth to germinate.
5. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
6. Germination: The seeds will typically germinate in 2-3 weeks, but it may take up to 6 weeks in some cases.
7. Transplanting: Once seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into a garden bed or larger pot with support for the vines to climb on.
Passionfruit vines require full sun and a warm climate to thrive, so they’re ideal for tropical or subtropical regions. They're also known for their rapid growth and beautiful flowers, making them a great addition to gardens.
