Sow seeds directly in well-draining, fertile soil after the last frost date, when the soil has warmed to at least 70°F (21°C). Plant seeds about 1 inch deep, spacing them 12-18 inches apart. Okra thrives in full sun and warm temperatures (75°F - 95°F/24°C - 35°C). Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during dry spells. Water regularly, but allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer to support healthy growth. Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and reduce weeds. Harvest the pods when they are young, tender, and about 3-4 inches long, typically 50-60 days after sowing. Regular harvesting encourages continuous production.
