1. Sow Indoors or Outdoors:

   - Indoors: Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before the last frost.

     - Sow seeds on the surface of a moist, well-draining seed-starting mix, as they need light to germinate. Do not cover the seeds.

     - Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature of 55–65°F (13–18°C). Germination can take 10–21 days.

   - Outdoors: Direct sow seeds in early spring, once the soil is workable, or in autumn for early spring blooms.

     - Scatter seeds on prepared soil and gently press them down. Keep the soil moist until germination.

2. Sunlight and Spacing:

   - Sunlight: Delphiniums thrive in full sun or light shade. They need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to produce strong, tall flower spikes.

   - Spacing: Space seedlings 12–18 inches apart to allow for good air circulation and prevent fungal diseases.

3. Soil and Watering:

   - Delphiniums prefer rich, moist, well-draining soil that is slightly acidic to neutral.

   - Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Delphiniums do not tolerate dry soil and may wilt in hot, dry conditions.

   - Mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

4. Fertilization and Care:

   - Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer when plants start growing and then again during the blooming season. High-potassium fertilizer will help boost flower production.

   - Staking is recommended for tall varieties like the 'Pacific' Mix, as the stems can become tall and heavy with blooms. Use plant supports or stakes to prevent them from toppling over.

5. Blooming and Maintenance:

   - Delphinium Tall 'Pacific' Mix produces vibrant, tall flower spikes in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white, typically blooming in late spring to early summer.

   - After blooming, cut back the spent flower stems to encourage a second flush of blooms (sometimes smaller) in late summer.

   - Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the blooming season and keep the plant looking tidy.

6. General Tips:

   - Delphiniums are perennials, but in colder regions, they may act as biennials or annuals due to winter dieback.

   - Protect plants from strong winds, as the tall flower spikes can be prone to breaking.

   - Pest control: Keep an eye out for aphids, snails, and slugs, which can damage the plant. Use organic pesticides or barriers as needed.

This Delphinium Tall 'Pacific' Mix is a striking, vibrant flower that makes a statement in cottage gardens, flower beds, or cut flower gardens. The tall spikes and beautiful colors make it a favorite for flower enthusiasts and pollinators alike.
