200 seeds

Clary Salvia (Salvia sclarea) seeds should be started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Lightly press the tiny seeds into a well-draining seed-starting mix, as they require light to germinate but should not be covered. Keep the soil moist and maintain temperatures around 65-70°F (18-21°C). Germination usually takes 10-14 days. Once the seedlings are strong and the threat of frost has passed, transplant them outdoors in full sun to partial shade, spacing them 12-18 inches apart. Clary Salvia thrives in well-drained soil and produces tall spikes of colorful flowers in shades of pink, purple, or white, along with aromatic, silvery foliage.
