Catchfly Rubra Electra (Silene armeria) seeds should be sown directly outdoors after the last frost or started indoors 6-8 weeks before. Lightly press the seeds into well-draining soil, as they require light for germination, but do not cover them. Keep the soil moist and maintain temperatures around 65-70°F (18-21°C) until germination, which takes 10-14 days. Once seedlings are strong, thin them to 6-8 inches apart.
