Caper bush seeds (Capparis spinosa) should be pre-soaked in warm water for 24 hours before planting to enhance germination. Sow the seeds in well-draining, sandy or loamy soil, about 1/2 inch deep. Place them in a sunny spot with temperatures around 70°F (21°C). Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and be patient, as caper seeds can take a few weeks to germinate. Once established, caper bushes thrive in dry, hot conditions and are drought-tolerant.
