Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost in a seed-starting mix. Press the seeds into the surface of the soil and cover lightly, as they need light to germinate.
Germination: Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature of 65–70°F (18–21°C). Germination can take 10–14 days.
Cold Stratification: For improved germination, you might want to cold-stratify the seeds. Place them in a damp paper towel inside a plastic bag in the refrigerator for 3–4 weeks before sowing.
Transplant: Once seedlings have several leaves and outdoor temperatures are frost-free, harden off the plants and transplant them to the garden. Space plants about 12–18 inches apart.
Sunlight and Care: Delphiniums thrive in full sun or partial shade with rich, well-drained soil. Water regularly but avoid overwatering, as Delphiniums don’t like wet feet.
Blue Donna is a variety of Delphinium known for its tall, spiky blue flowers, making it a stunning addition to borders and cottage gardens.
